The UK team draws its experience from a wide range of backgrounds to give this business a huge advantage in its ability to apply real breadth of thinking to its consultancy work. The London office is international; Greece, Brasil, India, Japan and Sweden and Australia are just some of the nationalities represented. As a relatively small and very busy company, the most important criteria in someone being successful in securing this position is the ability to pick up the role quickly. The position will suit someone with all the relevant experience who is working for a larger company and feels frustrated at their lack of development and who wishes to have more influence within the business they work.This role has the following main responsibilities:* Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a team of three direct reports, with the opportunity to grow the team further.* Provide oversight on health economic modeling activities within the team* Conducting economic evaluations to inform client strategy and product commercialisation; in particular, early modelling and value dossier development. * Leading on the development of health economic models, supported by a Consultant and a Project Manager * Supporting the Consultant Health Economist in developing and building a successful health economics business* Work with Global and domestic clients to ensure delivery of Innovative Health Economic tools and models * Promote the activities of our client and assist in business development activities through the production of articles, posters and publications and by presenting at industry events* Expand the consulting offer across client HEOR departments * Building a network of health economics’ KOL’s internationally and in UK. * Collaborating with the DHC US office on specific projects What we are looking for in the perfect candidate* A minimum of 5 years experience in a health economics role, ideally blue chip pharma/biotech industry, and Consultancy* MSc in Health Economics (ideally), Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Pharmacy, Medical or Statistics * Line management experience* Practical experience of developing and validating simple to complex health economic models in a range of therapeutic areas * Strong understanding of Bayesian methodologies, Markov and semi Markov models* Technical and scientific knowledge and hands on-experience in health economics methodologies and their application within industry and in market access * Successful performance in cross-functional teams * Ideally a track record of scientific publications* Strong business development skills and commercially driven* Language skills advantageous, especially Asia-Pacific Languages* Knowledge of European regulatory approvals, drug development and pricing and reimbursement strategies would be beneficial This is an opportunity to become a vital component of a small but growing business and to develop your experiences within the consultancy environment.To apply, forward your CV to alan@secpharma.com with a short cover not detailing your suitability for the position and your salary expectations.
