Even before mankind knew about celebrating any other festival, New Year around the world was welcomed with much gusto and zest by people of almost every race. While Jewish people celebrate New Year in the form of Rosh Hashnah, which falls in around the month of September according to the Gregorian Calendar. On the other hand, Iranians begin their New Year with the beginning of the spring season. Whereas, celebrations of New Year in India occur four times a year. They welcome every season with same fervor. Chinese and Japanese too have their own dates on which they eulogize the beginning of New Year. However, along with the regional New Year celebrations, the pagan festival of New Year on 1st January is the source of jubilations almost in every country.
Scottish New Year celebrations are known as Hogmanay. They actually give more emphasis to New Year Eve celebrations, which continue till the next day as well.
