As we approach the twelfth month of the year, there is so much to look forward to. As the year ends, the fast approaching New Year is looked forward to, with much hope. Statistically the first of January marks the start of New Year, yet the last day of December is anticipated with much enthusiasm.

Even before mankind knew about celebrating any other festival, New Year around the world was welcomed with much gusto and zest by people of almost every race. Right from ringing holy Church bells, to gatherings with family and friends, to watching parades sitting at home amongst all luxuries at television channels, today New Year celebrations have taken new ways. But not all the countries enjoy on the same day of 1st January. 1st January marks the beginning of the year as per the Gregorian Calendar. New Year celebrations portray a perfect example of assembling people of all nations to experience the same festive feel, which naturally comes along with the coming of New Year. Varied party spots seem to be full of distinct colors of celebrations. And all such festivities comprise everything that marks New Year Eve with a variety of festive colors. Also, such celebrations become the main reason that makes people go bonkers. And this reason has been constantly giving vent to the party spirit of the people. Being compelled by the inherent party enthusiasm, everyone turn on their heels to reach their favorite party venues, which appear to provide fun and frolic in leaps and bounds. And no other party can ever beat the charm of a New Year party. Everyone gets the chance to turn on the party gear only once in a year and therefore, such special eve celebrations comprise to form something that people can’t even think of missing out.

January is the month whose name indicates reflection and planning. The first calendar month is named after the two-faced Roman god Janus. It is a month when we look back at the past year and forward to the year to come. It is a time when more than 70 percent of us make New Year’s resolutions. We remember what worked or didn’t work for us in the past. We take stock of ourselves and assess our need for change in the new year. We remember past relationships and we assess potential new ones. We contemplate our future course. We either like the path we are on or decide a fresh new path is our best answer.
